Safia Cooper, has made her mark professionally in the entertainment and lifestyle brands sphere, with her most recent role as Chief Executive Officer of Pulse Investments Ltd. Ms Cooper has been appointed a Director of the Company.
Upon leaving the UWI with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in International Relations and Political Science, Safia was successfully accepted into the inaugural Red Stripe Graduate Internship Programme in 2001. There she spent 18 months in junior management positions across Sales and Marketing. She was subsequently offered a permanent position within the organization and this led to a successful 11-year career in marketing and sales both at Red Stripe in Jamaica, as well as internationally with Diageo Brazil.
Safia acquired her Master’s in Business Administration at the Nova South eastern University, Wayne Huizenga Graduate School for Business and Entrepreneurship in 2004, while matriculating professionally at Red Stripe/Diageo. Cooper held management roles such as Manager for various Red Stripe and Diageo brands. She was seconded to Sau Paulo, where she acted as Brand Manager, Johnnie Walker Black Label Diageo, Brazil. Safia played an integral role in the relaunch of Smirnoff Vodka with its Flavours inclusive of the very popular Smirnoff Apple Vodka.
Cooper received many awards during her time at Diageo inclusive of Brand Manager of the Year, Campaign Manager of the Year, several Red Stripe Cool Awards for Performance and the Jamaica Young Professionals Awards for Performance in Marketing.
In 2012, Safia shifted gears, moving from Diageo to Pulse as Director of Marketing at Sales. At Pulse she was responsible for strategic brand development, including fashion, modelling, entertainment, property and lifestyle productions, inclusive of Caribbean Fashionweek, Caribbean Model Search, the Color Festival and PULS8 activities.
