Pulse Investments and Paramount Trading recorded strong gains during Tuesday’s trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange.
Pulse gained 17.7 per cent and Paramount gained 17.06 per cent to lead gains to close at $3.60 and $1.99 respectively.
But JMMB Group and Stationery and Office Supplies Limited (SOS) both lost more than 9.0 per cent in market activity bringing down prices to July levels.
The JSE Combined Index advanced by 2,064.41 points ( 0.41 per cent) to close at 508,428.83. The JSE Index advanced by 1,709.62 points ( 0.33 per cent) to close at 512,237.00. The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index advanced by 1,858.93 points ( 0.33 per cent) to close at 562,952.77.
The Junior Market Index advanced by 45.19 points ( 1.33 per cent) to close at 3,443.97. The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 0.15 points ( 0.08 per cent) to close at 200.01. The JSE Financial Index advanced by 0.90 points ( 0.65 per cent) to close at 140.01.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 61 stocks of which 26 advanced, 23 declined and 12 traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 25,080,811 units valued at over $384,066,462.30. Wigton Windfarm was the volume leader with 11,551,320 units (46.06 per cent)followed by Sagicor Financial Select Fund with 4,325,118 units (17.24per cent) and GraceKennedy with 3,454,590 units (13.77per cent) .
